The Road I’ve Traveled


  • Spent my childhood in Vienna, Austria attending public school
  • Learned to ski in 1st Grade in the Austrian Alps and have loved skiing ever since
  • Started flying in planes in 1970 and have flown in just about every commercial plane there is, including a Single Otter (Seaplane) & a Tupolev (Russian Airplane)
  • Celebrated my birthday twice in one day (each side of the international time zone)
  • Traveled to 77 countries on 4 continents
  • Hiked a portion of the Great Wall of China
  • Walked on a Glacier in Austria
  • I’ve straddled the Equator in Ecuador, Prime Meridian in Greenwich, the Continental Divide in Colorado, and the America/Eurasian Tectonic Plate in Greenland
  • Been on an overnight safari in Kenya
  • Watched the Aurora Borealis dance away in Greenland
  • Launched a magazine 20 years ago that is still being published with a global readership
  • Was caught in a coup in Cote d’Ivoire and had to be rescued by French special forces soldiers
  • Flew 17 hours to New Zealand to do a 2 hour presentation and then turned right around and flew 17 hours back (won the deal!)
  • Witnessed a Glacier calve in Alaska
  • Lived and worked with my family for 3 years in the UK & Germany
  • Opened offices in DACH Region (learning how to demo software and negotiate in German)
  • A serial Intrapeneuer
  • My #1 Strength on StrengthsFinders is “Competition”…and I’m my own biggest competitor
  • Enneagram 8, Meyers-Briggs INTP, DISC D
  • Have one big thing left on my bucket list – take the Shackleton Voyage to Antartica
  • Love a good Scotch – the peatier the better
  • Love the outdoors…any day in nature is a great day!
